Description
The Village of Mokena, Illinois is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Civil Engineer. The individual hired for this position will play a key role in providing in-house engineering services to the community’s residents and developers, overseeing the design, review, and construction of critical infrastructure projects.
This position is responsible for performing and coordinating all aspects of municipal engineering, including capital project planning and management, consultant oversight, plan review, coordination with IDOT, Will County, and other agencies, and the preparation of RFQs and RFPs for engineering services. The position also assists in policy direction and provides professional technical advice to Village leadership on public works and development matters.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, and be adept at balancing technical detail with practical implementation. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CAD, and GIS systems is required.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university is required, along with five to ten years of experience in a municipal or consulting environment. Candidates must hold a State of Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.) License and possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Salary Range: $100,680 to $125,256 (based on qualifications and experience)
