The Village of Mokena, Illinois is seeking an experienced and professional individual to fill the position of Senior Capital Civil Engineer. This position will oversee the Village’s capital improvement program and manage large-scale infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and completion.

Under the direction of the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director, this position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all engineering services undertaken by the Village, including oversight of other engineering staff and consultants. The Senior Capital Civil Engineer will lead capital project design and delivery, review development and construction plans, manage grant funding opportunities, and provide technical and policy guidance to the Village Board and senior management on engineering issues.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, and GIS systems is essential.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, have at least ten years of experience in municipal or consulting engineering, and possess a State of Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.) License. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.

Salary Range: $120,152 to $149,540  (based on qualifications and experience)
